Head Instructor
Managing programme of instruction in windsurfing, sailing or waterskiing. RYA Dinghy Senior Instructor or RYA Intermediate (non-planing) Windsurf Instructor/Senior Instructor or Experienced BWSF Instructor. RYA Safety/Powerboat Instructor preferably. SBDA / RYA powerboat level 2, ICC and First aid qualifications compulsory. Previous head instructor experience a distinct advantage.
EU passport and UK National Insurance number essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Head Instructor/Beach Manager
Accountable to:
¨ Hotel Manager
¨ Waterfront Manager
Staff responsible for:
¨ Waterfront Staff
Responsible for:
¨ Supporting the WFM in all decisions on the Waterfront
¨ Management and motivation of Waterfront Staff and Guests.
¨ Organisation of staff rotas.
¨ Implementation of the Waterfront Program
¨ Organisation of Waterfront Staff throughout all aspects of their work.
¨ Planning and organising pre-season and ongoing training programmes.
¨ Health and Safety of the Safety on a day to day basis.
Duties on the Waterfront:
¨ Ensuring that an instruction programme, which caters for all abilities of Guests whether adults or children, is adhered to by the Instructors.
¨ Initiating and co-ordinating systems for the entire Watersports operation.
¨ Establishing and implementing water safety precautions.
¨ Ensuring the safety of the guests and staff at the waterfront.
¨ Overseeing the care and maintenance of all Watersports equipment.
¨ Organisation of Race Day and evening Prize Giving.
¨ Maintaining a high standard of personal appearance at all times.
¨ Ensuring that where possible the expectations of the Guests are met or acted on.
¨ Instruction of guests and staff in specialist area
¨ Ensuring that an instruction programme, which caters for all abilities of Guests whether adults or children is in place on the water
¨ Carrying out other duties on the Waterfront as dictated by the Standard Operating Procedure – e.g. Shore break, manning Customer Service Desk, providing Safety cover, pontoon management
Other duties:
¨ Assisting the Activities Manager with the planning of bad weather programmes.
¨ Co-ordination of the transfer of guests to and from the airport.
¨ Assisting the Activities Manager with the organisation of Welcome Drinks.
¨ Assisting Guests with all their requirements, problems and difficulties.
¨ Assisting the Activities Manager with the organisation of evening entertainment’s and social activities both within and without the Hotel.
¨ Taking evening meals with the Guests.
¨ Conducting regular departmental meetings.
¨ Attending a weekly staff meeting.
¨ Duties outside your job description as deemed appropriate by your Manager.
¨ To be/hold a presence and be recognised as Waterfront Manager in the WFM’s absence.
Maintaining a professional image at all times.
